Dunga’s Brazil

When you speak about Brazil’s defense, the name Carlos Dunga has to come to your mind. He was one of the best Brazilian defenders along with Roberto Carlos and Cafu. As a player, he was the world champion with Brazil in world cup 1994, and champion of the FIFA confederations cup 1997. As a coach, he won the Coppa America 2007 and again the FIFA confederations cup 2009, although he had no previous coaching experience when he started coaching Brazil for the first time.

Dunga, the manager of the Brazilian national team, is risking his history by not calling 2 of the most influential Brazilian stars recently. Dunga refused to listen to press, players, fans and whoever asked him to call Ronaldinho and Pato to the 2010 world cup squad. It was very obvious that Ronaldinho and Pato deserved to play for the Brazilian national team.

Yesterday, Brazil played their first game in the South African World cup against North Korea. Whoever watched yesterday’s game would have noticed that it wasn’t The Brazil we all know. I understand his defensive mentality, but he should consider that Brazil was, is and will always be an offensive team. Furious fans of the Brazilian samba will never forgive him if he doesn’t come back with the world cup trophy. Let us wait and see.

  2. those north Koreans really impressed me... they're all local league players and not matter how bad (or defensive for that matter) Brasil played i still think they had a case
